Dress Up

Mary has discovered "dress-up" She decided one day when she was home with Daddy that she wanted her 'butterfly' When I got home Paul informed me he figured out what she wanted but wouldn't let her have it since he thought I wouldn't like it.

But I LOVE it!! Mary wanted her halloween costume!! I let her wear it (which is really a fairy)
So lately she has been wearing her butterfly around and being all cute and calling herself a princess!

I love that she loves to dress up and dance around!!

Time Warp

I don't know how it happens. I get on the computer to check my mail and see what's going on in the world and ZAP! Next thing I know, it's like an hour later. The kids are running around late for the bedtime routine and the kitchen is messier somehow and laundry goes unfolded.
I am not sure how this happens all I know it that I learn all that I want to do, again. I sit here and think about all of the things I have not done, that need to get done. I have decided to do more....tomorrow.

I am also stuck in the perpetual cycle.....I want things, I don't want to work, working allows me to have those things that I want but I still don't want to work ...HELP!! I am a stay-at-home mom stuck in a working womans body.

Ok I am done for now...Mary has dumped epsom salts all over the counter and is running around with the bag of mini-marshmallows.....

I think my daughter is made of rubbermaid....ya know it's made to bouce back. Either that or I got really lucky with Houghton that he did not like to be dangerous.

Mary spent the day sliding off of the ottoman (the one from Drew and Kathy) directly onto her head, then rolling over, laughing hysterically, getting up and doing it again. I felt that I needed to stop her for fear of a heart attack. (Mine not hers!)

She trips on her own feet, the sidwalk or even just the carpet, giggles so adorably, then gets up and keeps going. (With Houghton it was a five minute cuddle, kiss clean the owie etc)

Tonight though, the keeper.....She goes to get into Hougton's bed with him....which mind you she has done plenty of times....and promptly leans on the tent he has and falls off of the bed. Now, normally it wouldn't be that bad...but Houghton has a loft bed. See.....she was shaken up but not a scratch on her....she did worry me that she was drowsy soon after but it was 30 min. past her bedtime. While we rocked and cuddled she did tell me "Mommy, I, OK" and "No Owies!" several times....so that helped. She wanted me to read her a story and sign songs so she couldn't have been that bad. I did make her walk around to make sure she didn't break a leg or something. (She landed on her butt!)

I am not sure what that child is made of but I do know this.....my heart cannot take much more!!!

It's Done!!

Paul has taken the next to last exam. He laughs at me because I want him to call me immediately when he is finished so that I can hear how it went. I guess I am a little superstitious because I can always tell in his voice and how he feels he did on the test.

This one went well. He feels that he might've just gotten by but enough to feel good about it!!!
I am pretty sure he passed becuase of the tone of voice he had. He's also a pretty good predictor of how well he did!!

So cross your fingers and we'll know around mid-December!!

Halloween

Halloween went off without a hitch ....sort of.....we forgot the camera so we are relying on a friend who got some pictures of the kids. I had to go get another friends kids becuase their mother's car broke down and was going to be late....and she was bringing the dinner!!

Needless to say they were adorable and Mary insisted on walking and all the neighbors insisted on talking to her --it took us about 45 minutes to get around one block. Houghton and friends ditched us and went ahead with the other parents....He did hang back after a while when he discovered that he got more attention taking Mary around to all of the houses and speaking for her (which she needs no help with-she is amazingly articulate).
